The Completion Process

A method for deep emotional healing – developed by Teal Swan

What is the Completion Process?

The Completion Process is a method for healing emotional trauma developed by spiritual teacher and author Teal Swan. It is based on the understanding that unprocessed childhood experiences continue to exist within us as frozen states of consciousness – and from there, unconsciously shape our present-day experience, our relationships, and our reactions.

Unlike many therapeutic approaches, the Completion Process does not work through the mind, but directly through feeling. Through guided imagery and a safe, non-judgmental holding space, these frozen states can become accessible again – to be experienced and integrated.

The result: old patterns dissolve. What once automatically triggered fear, pain, or withdrawal loses its grip – not because it was suppressed, but because it was finally fully felt and integrated.

My Training and Experience

I learned the Completion Process directly from Teal Swan in 2016 and have applied it in hundreds of individual sessions since. It is the cornerstone of my work – not as a rigid protocol, but as a living process that adapts to what each client needs in the moment.

What I find so powerful about this method: it gets to the core quickly. Clients often experience shifts in a single session that they wouldn’t have thought possible after years of talk therapy. Not because the method is somehow “stronger,” but because it works where the trauma actually lives – in the feelings, not in the thoughts about them.

How a Session Works

  1. Arriving: We begin with whatever is present for you right now – a feeling, a situation, a pattern that keeps showing up.
  2. Entering the feeling: Rather than talking about the feeling, we move into it together. I guide you through an inner imagery process back to its origins.
  3. Meeting the inner child: We often encounter a younger part of you that is stuck in a difficult experience. That part finally receives what it needed back then.
  4. Integration: What was experienced is integrated into your present sense of self. You leave the session with a shifted inner state – not just new insight.
